About

I'm Daniel Talero, an independent consultant with 10 years of experience working at the crossroads of risk assessment, technology and environmental strategy. My clients have ranged from federal agencies and regional municipalities to family-owned manufacturers and venture-backed climate tech startups. I believe the organizations that will thrive in the next decade are those that embrace AI adoption and climate adaptation as systemic opportunities, not just regulatory or reporting obligations.

Before going independent, I led strategy engagements at global management consultancies (KPMG, WSP, Guidehouse) and advised local governments. I hold a Master's in Environmental Policy from the University of Colorado Denver, as well as certifications in project management, financial modeling, insurance underwriting, and facilitation. I am based in Washington, D.C. and work with clients across North America and Europe.

Work
01

AI Strategy & Governance

Helping organizations understand what AI can—and cannot—do for them. From readiness assessments and procurement guidance to workforce transition planning and responsible-use policy, I translate technical complexity into decisions leadership can act on.

02

Climate Resilience Planning

Working with public agencies, municipalities, and businesses to embed climate risk into strategy. Scenario analysis, adaptation roadmaps, stakeholder engagement, and grant-ready proposals—grounded in science and shaped for the real world of budgets and politics.

03

Organizational Transformation

Change at the intersection of technology and environmental pressure is hard. I work alongside leadership teams to build internal capacity, align incentives, and design processes that hold up as conditions keep shifting.
